Welcome to Giving by Design! We are a community of artists dedicated to
making a difference through our work. Our founding members are located
throughout the United States. We have members in Alabama,Florida,
Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. This advantage allows us to cast a wide
net with regards to artist recruiting and linking with a diverse group of
partner organizations. Our website will officially launch in the Spring of
2008. The mission is twofold, 1) Provide a venue for emerging artists to
display their work and earn revenue, and 2) Provide donations to our
partner organizations through the sale of work displayed on the site.
When you purchase a work of art or any auxiliary products from Giving
by Design, 15% of that purchase goes to the charitable organization of
your choice from our list of partner organizations. We will also be holding
live events to support specific organizations from our partner list. To
begin with, we believe that we will only be able to support one or two
events per year, but we hope to expand to quarterly and even monthly
events as our organization grows.
In the next 3 to 5 years, we at Giving by Design ultimately aim to establish
a fixed gallery where we can foster and develop the Lucy Winn internship
program and expand our offline services such as after-school workshops
and art therapy programs. While the internships would be sponsored by
Giving by Design, a large portion of the tuition for the after-school
workshops and art therapy programs would go to the partner organization
of each participant's choosing.
